We have a dairy in the lower region of Austria, about 40 minutes drive from Vienna and situated on the outskirts of the historic spa town of Baden. Nom stands for Niederösterreichische Molkerei which means ‘Lower Austrian Dairy’ and is joint owned by a farmers co-operative and Austria’s leading bank. Our Dairy has been a real success story over the past few years and as well as producing yogurts for the domestic Austrian market also exports yogurt and yogurt drinks right across Europe.
Not surprisingly this combination of high quality and great taste means our Dairy in Austria now makes in excess of one billion pots and bottles each year, over fifty percent of which is exported and which generates total sales in excess of £400m. Building on this success we have recently finished work on a brand new £60m Dairy in the heart of Shropshire.
